Top 9 Atlantis Vacation Tips and Tricks

Itinerary & Experience:
The Sunset Dinner Cruise runs only on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 5–7 PM (standard time) or 6–8 PM (daylight savings). The cruise departs from the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal, just across the street from Atlantis. We checked in around 5:30 PM and boarded the beautiful catamaran. The Bahamian crew was warm, enthusiastic, and helpful, making us feel welcome immediately. Most guests were couples or adults, though a few families with small children were onboard. My 15-year-old daughter felt completely comfortable, and we were ready to enjoy the evening.

The bar was open, and our ticket included a Bahama Mama (or juice) and a traditional Bahamian dinner buffet. We settled on the bow with our drinks and cruised along Nassau Harbor, while a crew member gave a personable and interactive tour, sharing the history of the island and pointing out the celebrity mansions along the shore. The casual “island time” vibe made the ride completely relaxing.

After a short cruise, dinner was served in a casual buffet. We loved the BBQ ribs, chicken, and traditional Bahamian-style rice. Following dinner, as the sun began to set, the sails went up, and we cruised further into the ocean. The views of Atlantis and the endless white sand beaches were breathtaking—perfect for photos. Families were capturing special moments, and the combination of the ocean, sunset, and happy faces made it a truly memorable experience.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the boat started heading back. Then—surprise!—the music turned up, and a little impromptu party began. Dancing and fun music had us swaying along (though I restrained myself from fully joining my teen’s playlist favorites!).

The cruise returned effortlessly to the dock. We disembarked feeling like rock stars, and my daughter and I both vowed to do it again next year. What an amazing, unforgettable evening!
